About the Authors

Carmen Bolaños, PhD

Carmen Bolaños, co-author, is a Professional Certified Coach and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. For years she has been working with professionals towards the achievement of their most important business and personal goals, and more recently towards location independence. Carmen was lured away from a private therapy practice by the mobility offered through a coaching career. She has lived abroad in Latin America and Asia, and has studied 6 foreign languages. Carmen maintains an international coaching practice, meeting by phone and Skype. Richard Hamel

Richard Hamel, co-author, has been traveling the world as a full-time Nu Nomad since 2001. He has visited, or resided in, more than two dozen countries—many of which he has visited more than once. Richard’s current “day job” is that of freelance website designer, which he performs as he moves about the world. He is the co-founder of NuNomad.com (the website in which this book is based on).

Richard has worked full-time (about five years) as a special events coordinator, fund-raiser and project developer for several non-profit projects and organizations. One such project was The Great Peace March of 1986. More than four hundred people (and at times the group grew to more than one thousand) made a nine-month coast-to-coast trek across the United States. In the department he was attached to, he dealt with the logistics of the walk, trekker preparation and individual fund-raising. He was the founder and former president of PAX Publishing, a print-communications service for the charitable, nonprofit, sector.

Richard Hamel did not attend university. Active participation with those who had, along with loads of courses at various community colleges, has been his means of post-secondary (higher) education. (More about Richard is available at www.RichardHamel.com.)
