Clients, Tissues, Trains and Cheese

So – here’s the long and short of it:

Clients – calls with my clients have been working well so far.  Skype has proven to be clear to every place except Texas.  The east coast sounds great.  Australia sounded better than the telephone.  The only issue so far has been complaint of background noise when I dialed into a conference call but I muted out so that was ok.

Tissues – I am sick.  Either I am allergic to something or I have a virus, but after a year of perfect health I now feel like death warmed over. I was able to fit in a nap today and we stayed close to home after a day of sight seeing yesterday so hopefully this will pass.

Trains – trains are very confusing here.  We have yet to take a train trip without getting lost at least once.  You may think I am not a good navigator but usually I could find my way to Timbuktu with a blindfold on.  Part of the issue seems to be that whatever I have asked the Dutch so far they have answered with complete confidence and authority – what turned out to be the wrong answer.  It’s a bit frustrating – especially when you are leading a group of children around with you.

Img_0064_1 Cheese – in spite of the tissue and trains we did make a trip yesterday to a 17th Century Village set up to teach about old Dutch life called Zaanse Schans.  We were treated to beautiful scenery, windmills, a clog making demonstration, cheese making demonstration and clock museum.  Luckily the weather cooperated.  Enjoy some of the pictures in the photo album link to the left!
