Hello World!
So – who am I and why am I here? Good questions. I guess you could say this is the manifestation of a middle age crisis and you’d probably be right. I turned 40 this year. My mother died after 8 months in 4 hospitals. I have 3 children attending a private school, a quiet and devoted husband, and great friends. I have a Ph.D. as well as about 7 other letters behind my name. I own 2 businesses and I coach a handful of clients around the nation and the world.
Why am I here? I got into coaching 6 years ago, partially because I was enchanted by the vision of a career where I could be completely mobile. I grew up a language buff (24 years of foreign language education in total) and always dreamed I’d have an international career. Despite this, I never really used my mobility except to go to Connecticut in the summers. I guess I was too busy changing diapers/paying school tuitions/ and caring for my mother to feel I could really get away.
Well – this is it. I’m breaking loose and taking off with my kids and husband this year to Europe. I want to see if technology really has come far enough to allow true mobility while we work. I hope to share with you all the adventures and foibles as well as good information about how to break out and see the world and maintain a career at the same time! Come along!
