Last Minute Panic
So it is the day before our trip and I am just starting to pack given the fact that we just said goodbye to our new circus friends who were with us for 14 days. Of course our last day also included a morning fundraising carnival for my 11 and 13 year old daughters’ future circus and an afternoon goodbye party for good friends moving to London. Needless to say, I was not getting a free day to pack.
We had already done the laundry, had the suitcases laid out and a plan for what we were packing. This trip is tricky because the Netherlands can be quite cool and southern France will be quite warm. We need to have fall and summer weight clothes. I packed my 5 year old, no problem. 11 year old, no problem. I came then to my 13 year old with 20 minutes before carnival time. Guess what? She outgrew all her fall and winter clothes. Every piece but one pair of pants!
So, off we went, dropped my 11 year old at the carnival, ran to the local Target, got lucky enough to find long pants in Texas in June, and went back to the carnival.
Moral of the story? Don’t wait till the last minute!
