The Next Nomadic Wandering
You may be wondering where the Nomad will be going. I mean, I’ve started writing about travelling and working and yet I haven’t told you I’ve gone anywhere yet. The next place we intend to wander is The Hague and southern France with a possible stop off in Paris. Then we’ll spend a week in Connecticut on the beach before our return to Texas. All in all, we’ll wander about 5 weeks.
You may also be wondering what the heck I do that I can wander and work at the same time. I am a coach – business and executive coach, that is. Even when I’m at home in Texas, only one of my clients is in my home town. So I figure, if they’re not here, I guess I don’t have to be here either.
I’ve actually been travelling and working for some time now. In the past we’ve gone to Alaska, Florida, New Orleans, and the Caribbean. Except for time on cruise ships, I’ve pretty much worked all the way through. Actually, I worked on the cruise ships too, since presenting at a conference is also work. The hardest stunt I’ve pulled so far has been to drive my children from Texas to Boston and work. Taking coaching calls from highway campgrounds with tired kids in a tent is not for the weak.
I love coaching. I love my clients. I love being mobile. I love my family. The art of putting it all together is the trick I’m trying to master.
