Are you looking to book your next family trip away? Going away with family is always something to look forward to, and for your kids it is a chance to experience lots of new places and things. Today we want to talk about some of the important steps you need to take when planning your perfect family trip this year.
Here are some of the different ways you can get ready to head on an adventure with your loved ones next year.
Pack for every occasion
The first and most important thing to do when packing for a trip abroad is to pack for every possible weather condition. Weather can be unpredictable anywhere in the world and the last thing you want is to be stuck across the pond without your coat or hoodie. Also consider the different places you might visit during your holiday – for example if you were to go somewhere fancy you’d want to pack a nice dress or suit for the trip. If you’ll be exploring in the mountains, you’ll need comfortable and practical layers. Be sure to always be prepared – it’s better to pack too much than not enough!
Research the area
Now is the time to start researching the area around your hotel or villa and consider where you want to visit during your trip. There will likely be lots of restaurants, bars, museums, markets, and more around the area you visit, as well as plenty of fun attractions to go and see. Write down a list of potential places to visit and bring it with you so you can plan your days depending on the weather and how everyone is feeling.
Plan your travel
Planning your travel is the most important part of your trip, particularly when you have children to think about. Children are naturally very impatient, and when it comes to planning the right route for your travels you will want to consider the smoothest and most stress free ride. This means finding flights with no switches, looking for shorter air time, or even taking a different approach to avoid the airport rush. There are plenty of options when it comes to travel and the earlier you plan it the better for everyone.
Pack some healthy snacks
When you have hungry kids and a hungry partner on a plane with you, things can get stressful quite quickly. It is super important to pack your bags with lots of healthy and filling snacks for the kids and the rest of the family to keep everyone calm on the trip. Here are 2 quick lunch recipes that are easy to whip up as well as easy to carry around in the airport.

- Chop up some rotisserie chicken into small cubes and add to a bowl with the mayonnaise, mustards, and honey. Mix until thick. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Build your sandwich starting with butter, then mixed leaves, then cucumber slices.
- Spoon a large dollop of your chicken mixture on to the sandwich. Top with bread.

- Cucumber slices
- Heat up a frying pan, then fry your halloumi on each side for a few minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble your wraps with some houmous, spinach, cucumber, tomato, and halloumi. Add as much or as little as you like here.
- Finish with a dollop of tzatziki.
Leave early for the flight
The last thing you want to be doing when you are heading out for a trip is reaching the airport with little time left until the flight. Airports can be stressful and busy, so the earlier you leave the better. Make sure you wake the kids up with plenty of time before your taxi arrives, and get everyone to the airport with plenty of time to go.
Keep tabs on the kids
When you go on holiday there will be times when the kids want to go off and do their own thing. It is at times like this that you can use an app to type in phone number and find location. Keeping tabs on your kids when away will bring you peace of mind but also make them feel safer.
